Guidance for reviewing life insurance value.

Spotswood Capital is built around education, policy review, and a clear explanation of options before a policyowner lapses, surrenders, or continues a policy.

Experience with finance, insurance, and high-net-worth client relationships.

Robert started his career as a salesperson with a major U.S. consumer products company, received top sales training, and eventually earned the accomplishment of Salesman of the Year.

Transitioning to the mortgage banking industry as a loan officer, he became a top producer and eventually the AVP Branch Manager. Upon completing his MBA from Pepperdine University with a major in Marketing and Finance, Robert accepted a position as VP of a major savings and loan in Southern California, helping build it from two branches to a total of seven.

Changing to the insurance industry as a Risk Advisor to high-net-worth clients, he helped build several company divisions into top-performing offices in the Los Angeles market. Robert developed strong relationships with his clients and eventually opened his own Insurance Brokerage office as President/CEO of Spotswood Insurance Services to serve high-net-worth clients.

In 2026, Robert opened his firm as President/CEO of Spotswood Capital LLC to help educate and share information about an industry that is not very well known: the Life Settlement industry. Annual transactions generate roughly $4 billion to $5 billion in face value per year globally/nationally.

Consumer payout trade volume, as reported by LISA (Life Insurance Settlement Association), shows members completed nearly 3,000 transactions worth over $3.6 billion in total policy value. Average consumer settlements range from roughly $212,000 to over $1 million, depending on policy size.

Robert decided, based on the positive experience he had with his own life insurance policy, that this positive third option needed to be shared with other policyowners as opposed to lapsing or canceling a policy. It made more sense to receive some value from a life insurance policy, sometimes as much as four times the cash surrender value.
